Chocolate Crescent Rolls

New YouTube video is up! Watch me make this over on my YouTube channel Faith, Food and Family ! Chocolate Crescents Ingredients: 1 can of crescent rolls mini chocolate chips powdered sugar First I unrolled the crescents into their triangles. I think the container had 8 in there. Then I sprinkled the mini chips over the triangles, leaving the tip uncovered. I also pressed these in a bit. It helps them stay in place a bit more. Just roll up as usual and bake as directed on the can. When they are done, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Aren't these so pretty? They look like an elegant pastry and they're so simple! I could almost see these sitting in a bakery! Hope you enjoy!

Peanut Butter Cup Banana Bread

Do you like banana bread? If so, you need to try this amazing twist on regular banana bread! It is so good! Peanut butter and bananas have always been a yummy combination, but this really elevates that flavor combo to a whole new level! I think this would also be delcious as muffins if you would rather bake it that way. You could always double the glaze ingredients if you needed more to frost the muffins with. Regardless of how you want to make it, just make it. You won't regret it! Peanut Butter Cup Banana Bread Adapted from Inside Bru Crew Life’s recipe . Ingredients: 1/3 cup of peanut butter, creamy 1/3 cup of butter softened (unsalted) 1 cup of sugar 2 large eggs 1/3 cup of plain yogurt 2 large ripe bananas, mashed 1 tsp of vanilla extract 1 ½ cup of all-purpose flour 1 tsp of ground cinnamon 1 tsp of baking soda ¼ tsp of salt 10-20 Reese’s miniatures, quartered (see notes) Peanut Butter Glaze Ingredients: ¼ cup peanut butter, creamy ½ cup of powd...

Sausage and Potato Breakfast Burritos

I have been craving a good breakfast burrito and I was already fixing some breakfast stuff, so I thought why not use up more of the Tortilla Land flour tortillas and make breakfast burritos. I think you have to use the package within 7 days of opening, which won’t be hard since we have enjoyed them so much. This is not so much of a recipe, but it was tasty. It’s a great use of breakfast leftovers as well. I have always heard that you can freeze breakfast burritos too. So, you could make up a large batch and place them in the freezer. You could also just make up enough for the fridge for the week and reheat each morning. Great for meal prep! Sausage and Potato Breakfast Burritos Ingredients: Flour tortillas (mine were soft taco sized, but burrito size would be great as well) Scrambled eggs Sausage (cooked and crumbled) Cooked diced potatoes (You could do these in the air fryer, the skillet or use leftover baked potatoes cubed up) Shredded Cheese (whatever you like best, I u...

Oven-Baked Caramel French Toast

On Thursdays, us ladies get together for Thursday Morning Coffee. Our I should say all day coffee. LOL We stay until time to pick up kids. It is a wonderful day of fellowship, yummy food and deepening of friendships. It's a time we can laugh, get advice, lean on each other and just have a good time. I love my Thursdays and couldn't imagine my week without it. I am very grateful to our most gracious host and one of my best friends, Wendy. She truly makes us feel like our home is her home. We do occasionally hold it at another house but usually it's at Wendy's. Today I made this recipe. It was really good! I will definitely make it again and I hope you all enjoy it! I found it on AllRecipes . I did cut back on the nutmeg, cinnamon (because I used cinnamon swirl bread), eggs and milk. I don't like soggy things and this was just right for me. Oven-Baked Caramel French Toast (As I made it) 1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter 2 tbsp light corn syrup 1 cup chopped pecans, di...

Super Easy Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins

This is a recipe I got from a lady at MOPS . She did a great job showing us examples of some quick healthy meals. Everything we tried was so yummy! These are especially good and pretty healthy too! I would never guess they didn't have eggs or oil in them. Easy Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins 1 15oz can of pumpkin 1 box of spice cake mix 1 cup of water 1 cup of chocolate chips In one large bowl, add all 4 ingredients and mix well. Line your muffin pan with muffin liners and fill half full or so with mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for about 18-20 minutes. Makes about 22-24 muffins. I love to do these in the mini muffin pan as well! These are so yummy and my kids love them! These definitely Work for me ! Enjoy!

Monkey Bread

I made this last Thursday for our Thursday morning coffee group. I really like this recipe. The cooked sugar mixture is so yummy! I think you could even do it in a square or rectangle pan and get that yummy sugar mixture on each piece. Monkey Bread 2 cans Grands biscuits 1 cup sugar 1/4 cup cinnamon 1 stick butter 1 cup brown sugar Cut each biscuit in fourths and shake in bag with sugar/cinnamon mixture (save mixture for future use). Arrange in bundt pan that has been sprayed with cooking oil. Melt butter and mix in brown sugar, bring to a boil and lower heat, cook approximately 2 minutes. Pour over biscuits, lifting edges and allowing mixture to reach bottom of pan. Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Happy eating! This is being shared at Tempt My Tummy Tuesday . Go check it out for more great recipes!

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

My family loves chocolate chip pancakes. In fact, I have very rarely made any other kind. One morning, when we lived in Ohio, I had made chocolate chip pancakes. My husband was talking about them at work later that day and most of those he worked with had never had chocolate chip pancakes. Those poor things! I don't recall ever making pancakes from scratch. I've always used a mix. Today I wanted to try homemade since I was so happy with the homemade waffles . Chocolate Chip Pancakes 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon sugar (I used brown this time) 1 1/4 cups milk, warmed slightly in the microwave 1 egg 3 tablespoons butter, melted chocolate chips In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Then toss in some chocolate chips. Lots if you like a lot of chocolate chips and less if you want to go sparingly. I always eyeball it. Then in a small bowl, add milk, egg and butter and whisk together. Add wet in...

Southwestern Egg Bake

I wanted to make a savory egg dish to take to Thursday morning coffee with the ladies, but couldn't decide on what I wanted to make. I didn't have any sausage and was kind of in a mood for something mexican/southwestern. So I created this! It was delicious and it disappeared! The six of us ate the entire pan. Very yummy! Southwestern Egg Bake 10 eggs 1 can of tomatoes with green chilies (I used Del Monte brand), drained 8 oz of Colby and monterey jack cheese 1 onion, diced 1/4 tsp of red chili pepper 1/2 tsp cumin salt to taste 1 tsp butter Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 baking dish. In a small skillet, add butter and let it melt. Then add onions and saute until translucent. You just want them to soften a bit but still to have some texture to them. Set aside. In a large bowl, combine eggs and seasonings and whisk well. Then add, tomatoes, cheese and sauteed onions. Pour into greased baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes. Mine was done at 25 minutes ...

Homemade Waffles

I tried another recipe before this one that just didn't work out. So I decided to try again. This time I got delicious results! Everyone loved them! I highly recommend these waffles! Homemade Waffles 2 cups of all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp salt 4 tsp baking powder 4 tbsp brown sugar 2 eggs 1 1/2 cups of milk (warmed slightly) 4 tbsp butter, melted 1 tsp vanilla extract In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Break up any lumps of sugar and combine well. In another bowl, beat eggs well. Then add milk, butter and vanilla extract. Mix well and add to flour mixture. Whisk together. I used a 1/4 cup measuring cup to make my waffles. I have a square waffle maker that does 2 at a time and 1/4 cup to a little over did well for me. It will vary how much you use per waffle depending on your waffle iron. Cook until golden brown. Enjoy! Placing these on a cooling rack will help them stay crisp after cooking. I usually just lay them in a plate (with soggy results) and this ti...

Apple Butterscotch Bread

We have a Great Harvest Bread Co. here and I love their caramel apple bread. However, it is very expensive. I think $5 or $6 for a loaf and I just can't hardly justify that expense right now. Their's is a yeast bread but I thought maybe I could make a quick bread that maybe had hints of that taste. I know they use butterscotch chips in theirs so I decided to make Apple Butterscotch Bread! It was really good! I made it for our Thursday morning coffee time. My friend, Wendy, has several ladies over and we each bring a dish and just have a wonderful morning. Most of the time we all stay until sometime in the afternoon and we just have a great time of food, fun and fellowship. Sometimes we have several ladies, other times it's just a few. Today there were three of us and we pretty much ate this entire loaf of bread between the three of us. It is just really yummy! It comes together very quickly as well. Apple Butterscotch Bread 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour 1 tsp of cinnamon ...

Cream Cheese Bars

I can't even begin to describe how good these are. They are so yummy. One of the ladies at MOPS always brings these to every meeting. They always disappear. These are really easy. Especially if you use the new uncut crescent rolls that is just a sheet of crescent dough. That makes it super simple! Please try these soon. You will be very glad that you did! Cream Cheese Bars 2 cans of crescent rolls 2 8oz bars of cream cheese, softened 1 1/2 cups of sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup melted butter or margarine 1 tsp. cinnamon Spray 9x13 pan with Pam. Mix cream cheese, one cup of sugar and vanilla in a mixer until well blended. Roll 1 tube of crescent rolls in pan and press seams together. Spread cream cheese mixture onto dough. Unroll 2nd tube of crescent rolls onto mixture. Pour melted butter on top (I used a brush to brush it around and make sure it got everything coated). Mix 1/2 cup of sugar with cinnamon. Then sprinkle on top of the butter. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. These could wor...

Breakfast Casserole

I had some sausage I needed to use up so I decided to make a breakfast casserole. This turned out very tasty! Breakfast Casserole 1 bag of frozen shredded hashbrowns, thawed (I used 30oz package) 1 lb of sausage, cooked and crumbled 1 onion, diced and sauteed 2 cups of shredded cheese 1 can of evaporated milk 10 eggs 1-2 tsp of Mrs. Dash salt and pepper to taste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 baking dish. In a very large bowl, mix together sausage, onion, hashbrowns, and 1 cup of cheese. Mix well and pour into baking dish. Then in the same bowl, add eggs, milk and seasonings. Mix well. Then pour over potato mixture in the dish. Bake for about 45 minutes to 1 hour and then add 1 cup of cheese to the top and bake for about 5-10 minutes longer. Enjoy! Make sure your middle gets done. I had trouble with that. I ended up baking mine a bit longer. I think next time I might use less hashbrowns as well. That might help it bake faster in the middle. Mine was pretty thick. This was d...

Chocolate Crescent Rolls and 100th post giveaway!

Wow! This is my 100th post! In honor of this momentous occasion I am going to share a yummy, chocolaty recipe. You must make these soon. They are so easy and so yummy! I got this recipe from a friend of mine. She also has a blog and here is her post about these yummy Chocolate Crescents ! She thought of these herself one day when wanting to have something chocolaty. She's one smart cookie because these are delicious! I used Pillsbury Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls. They ran these on sale really cheap with coupon awhile back and I had been debating on what to make with them. Last night I needed some chocolate and made these! Chocolate Crescents 1 can of crescent rolls mini chocolate chips powdered sugar First I unrolled the crescents into their triangles. I think the container had 8 in there. Then I sprinkled the mini chips over the triangles, leaving the tip uncovered. I also pressed these in a bit per Jena's advice. It helps them stay in place a bit more. Just roll...

Breakfast to go and much cheaper than McDonald's!

Yesterday, a few friends and I got together like we do pretty much every Thursday morning when school is in. We fellowship and everyone brings something to share. Yesterday I decided to bring Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagels. And you'll be amazed at how much I spent. First lets get to the recipe. Baked egg squares 12 eggs 1/2 cup of water salt and pepper to taste Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease baking sheet liberally with butter (I used a 15x10x1 heavy sheet pan). In a bowl, whisk eggs, water, salt and pepper together. Then pour into buttered sheet pan. I have to add in here that I mixed the eggs the night before so that I just had to pour them in the pan in the morning. Just store in the fridge till you're ready to bake. Then bake until set. Mine cooked for about 20 minutes. Slice into squares to use on breakfast sandwiches. Yields: 12 squares The eggs did have a couple bubble up spots. I just poked them down with a fork and that worked just fine. I made 6 sandwiches. So here...

Breakfast for dinner

The last couple weeks of the month is usually the tightest for us. Especially since I'm out of work right now. So I'm trying to implement one night every week of breakfast for dinner. Tonight we had french toast. I just added three eggs, a tsp of vanilla, some cinnamon and some milk in a bowl. I didn't measure the milk. There are some recipes I'd like to try for french toast but tonight was just going to be quick so I didn't have time to find the recipes. Served it with powdered sugar and cinnamon on top. My daughter had a little syrup on hers. Everyone really enjoyed it so I am going to have to make it more often. So here's a cost breakdown... milk- .25 cinnnamon- .05 vanilla- .25 three eggs- .25 half a loaf of texas toast- .60 (bought on sale at kroger) So about a $1.40 for that. Now, that was only for three people. My husband had eaten a bit before and wasn't hungry and my 4 year old ate a hot dog). But even if you double it for 6 people let's say, i...

Great deal at Food Lion!

I don't buy Pop Tarts a lot but I couldn't pass up this deal at Food Lion. At my local Food Lion they have Pop Tarts on sale for 3/$5. That's not the great deal part though. On the Pop Tarts with Fiber they have $1.00 off one box coupons. So that made them about .67 a box. So I stocked up. That's a great deal! Especially if it can save you on a busy morning from buying breakfast somewhere. They had strawberry and chocolate. Just wanted to share! God bless, Amanda
