A delicious twist on Jalapeno Poppers

How is your January going? I hope great! I can't believe we're almost to February! Time just passes so fast! We've not had much luck with our kitchen appliances this month. First our dishwasher went out the week before New Year's. It was replaced sometime the week after. Then our oven burner decided to catch on fire and break in two. So we we're down an oven for a few days. Our dryer also went out but my husband was able to fix it thanks to You Tube and a very helpful local appliance store. Those videos can be very helpful in learning to do something. I know I learn best by being shown instead of reading a manual. So, now that everything is working again, I hope to start cranking out some new recipes. Speaking of new recipes....If you haven't discovered Pinterest yet, you're missing out! It's such a neat site and I have enjoyed looking for new recipes, organization tips and more on there. You do have to be invited to join. You can either be invited by ...

Jalapeno Chicken Dip

This dip is extremely good and addictive! A friend of mine from MOPS has brought it twice to a Mom's Night Out and it disappears! So easy and so good! I highly recommend you make this soon! I made it the other night and served it with Triscuits (fire roasted tomato flavor). So yummy! Jalapeno Chicken Dip 2 8oz packages of cream cheese 1 can of cream of chicken soup 2 cups of cooked diced chicken (could use canned) shredded cheese (I used mexican style) jalapeno slices (jarred) In a sauce pot over medium heat, combine cream cheese and soup until creamy. Then add chicken and heat through. In a baking dish (I used an 8x8 dish), pour cream cheese mixture in and top with cheese. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is nice and melted. Then remove from oven and top with sliced jalapeno peppers. Serve with crackers and/or chips and enjoy! I'm all for making things healthier and lower in fat. So I used reduced fat cream cheese and healthy request cream of chicken soup with fantastic result...

Heavenly Ham Dip

I'm sorry I don't have a finished picture of this. The kids devoured it before I took a picture. I will make it again soon and take a picture of it but for now I am showing the ingredients. This is an extremely yummy and addictive dip. I like to serve it with Ritz type crackers. Townhouse, generic brand, anything like that will do. It's so easy to make! Heavenly Ham Dip 8oz cream cheese (I usually use the low fat one) 1 5oz can of ham 1-2 tbsp dijon mustard (this is to taste, you might want more and you can use reg instead of dijon if you like) Place all ingredients in a bowl and combine well with a fork. Enjoy! Happy Eating! This is being shared at Tempt My Tummy Tuesday .

Guys Night Out

How often do your husbands have a night out with their friends? If your husband is like mine, not very often if at all. Guys just don't always make time for that kind of stuff. Or they might want to but just never set it up and organize it. Well, we got approved for for the Microsoft's Windows 7 House Party. So I knew it was a prime opportunity for a guys night out (or technically in since they all came to our apartment). We actually received a free copy of Windows 7 to try out and demo and so far we've really enjoyed it! By the way, I highly recommend signing up for House Party . It's a word of mouth kind of advertising. There are various house parties that you can sign up for. You usually receive a free product as well as coupons and goodies to give away at your party. There's no selling involved it's just a way to try a new product. So he invited a few guys over and I made some food. I made the Peanut Butter Cup Trifle and Buffalo Chicken Dip . The guys had ...

Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

Friday night was our Wizards of Waverly Place House Party. We had a great turnout! 16 kids and 8 adults (three adults didn't stay). Princess enjoyed having her girlfriends over and Rocket boy had a couple of friends there too. I didn't want him to be left out. The kids had fun and there were lots of yummy munchies. I made Chicken Wing Dip (more for the adults than the kids because it is spicy). It's so yummy and everyone will love it. Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip 2 packages of cream cheese, softened 3/4 cup of hot sauce (I use buffalo sauce, not sure if it's different from hot sauce or not) 1 cup of ranch dressing 2 cups of diced, cooked chicken 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together cream cheese and hot sauce until well blended. It's helpful if you microwave the cream cheese a bit to make it easy to incorporate the hot sauce. Then mix in ranch dressing, chicken and cheese. Spread into a 9x13 baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes. I served w...
